You just lost one of your loved ones and you would like to know whether he/she is doing well. So you see a clairvoyant and ask the person to contact the dead. And maybe you would like some advice from the dead concerning your future…
But is it true that the clairvoyant is in touch with your loved one during the clairvoyance? A simple and very short answer is No!!! But then is the whole thing humbug? To this the answer is also No because the clairvoyant is actually talking to the spirit world and has “a team of personal helpers “ in the spiritual world as they describe it. However, they are totally convinced that they are communicating with the dead person.
How can I be so sure about this..? I can because of the simple fact that when we die our soul leaves the earth and we go straight to Heaven/Paradise or to Hell dependent on whether the person who died surrendered his life to Jesus Christ or not. Here both are mentioned in the Bible. Luke 23:43 talks about “Paradise”. “Jesus answered: “I tell you: Today you will be with me in Paradise.” Concerning the existence of Hell, Matthew 18:9 says: “If your eye is causing you to fall away from faith, tear it out and throw it out. It is better to enter eternal life with one eye than to end up in the fire of Hell with both eyes.”
When the soul is in Heaven/Paradise or in Hell we cannot communicate with the dead person’s soul/spirit. But what then is happening when a clairvoyant speaks to “a dead”? One out of two things may happen. If the deceased was possessed by a demon, this demon became “homeless” when the person the demon lived in died. The demon knows everything about the dead person, from habits to favorite food, mindset etc.! Therefore the demon can inform in details about the dead person and it will seem very authentic. In a haunted house the same thing is true – there is a demon. This has NOTHING to do with the fact that a soul was not able to find rest and now must “get help to go to the other side*”; because the soul is already in either Heaven/Paradise or in Hell. Matthew 12:43 describes a homeless demon like this:
Matthew 12:43 (NIV)
“When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it.”
If the dead person was not possessed, the clairvoyant is most likely communicating with a spirit of divination. In Acts 16:16-20 we read how a spirit of divination was cast out.
Acts 16:16 (Good News Translation)
“One day as we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a young servant woman who had an evil spirit that enabled her to predict the future. She earned a lot of money for her owners by telling fortunes.”
Spirits of divination can “predict” – or at least put a “prediction” on your life, but the spirit can also go back in time and bring up some actual experiences. This happens at the “memories” that may be called forth during a “regression” (a so-called soul travel to an “earlier life”), if you talk about reincarnation. What is happening is actually necromancing, and it makes you believe that you were at certain places at certain times in an earlier life. The places, the times, and the persons are correct because the spirit with whom you are communicating was there, but the “memories” or the “images” that is brought forth have nothing to do with any earlier life – they are from other people’s lives.
What does the Bible say about all of this? Well, it says for us to totally stay away from it.
Deuteronomy 18, 10-14 (NIV)
Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, enganges in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium, or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD; because of these same detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the LORD your God..
The Bible is very clear about not praying to the dead, doing divination etc. and that goes for contact to Mary the mother of Jesus, and various saints because remember that Mary etc. were ordinary people who were used by God. They were neither divine nor anything else and to worship them or to pray to them would be idolatry or contacting the dead. Furthermore Isaiah talks about what will be the end result of those that defy the exhortation and still get the advice of clairvoyants.
Isaiah 8:19-22 (NIV)
”When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn. Distressed and hungry, they will roam through the land; when they are famished, they will become enraged and, looking upward, will curse their king and their God. Then they will look toward the earth and see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom, and they will be thrust into utter darkness.
Well all right, one must not contact the dead! … but what about the angels? They are not dead, they are our helpers … we can contact them, can’t we? No – we must not! The only time we may communicate with an angel is if it physically appears to us. We must not contact them – and no, an angel cannot protect you or do anything for you unless God sent it. Compare with an army. If you ask a soldier for help it may well be that a person of superior position says no. The same way with angels. If you ask for help you must ask Jesus for guardian angels. Then you can be sure that he knows whether to send 1 or 15 angels to protect you. The one angel can and must not come by himself as an angel is the messenger of GOD and not our servant. When an ”angel worshipper” gets contact to an angel it is not an angel from Jesus Christ, but a demon (a fallen angel) that appears to be an angel of light – that is “a wolf in sheep’s clothing.” The Bible clearly says that we as Christians must not “follow those” that worship angels.
Colossians 2:18 (NIV)
Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind.
Remember!!! In Jesus Christ we have EVERYTHING we need. If we believe and trust in Him, we do not need a fortune teller, a clairvoyant, Mary, a saint, or angels – because God takes care of us when we trust in Him. And when we do that then He is able to bless us with “all the blessings of heaven”.
… so if you are in touch with the occult world, contacting spirits, receiving healing, astrology, predictions etc. I recommend that you put it all down, surrender to our Master and Saviour, Jesus Christ and walk with the Holy Spirit instead of believing the deception of the devil.
