CAN TAOISM OR DAOISM BE RECONCILED TO JESUS CHRIST?

Taoism, which is also called Daoism, is a Chinese spiritual philosophy that appeared after the Han dynasty based on texts written clear back in the 4th century B.C.

Daoism is the only original state religion in China.

As center in Taoism is “tao” or “dao” (transcription of the Chinese character , which can be translated as “the way”). Tao is a term describing the eternal universal power that runs through everything in the universe and through the cosmic order. Tao/Dao is the state where the two dualist qualities of yin and yang are in harmonious movement and in balance.

Taoism teaches that you should live your life in harmony (balance between yin and yang) instead of getting in its way. Many believe that th universe unfolds harmoniously according to its own cosmic laws, and exercising human free will is directly contrary to this unfolding and disturbs this natural harmony. Instead you should learn to sense the tao flowing through all things and act accordingly.

Tao/Dao, which are, as mentioned the “eternal universal power“, is also the energy used in connection with opening chakra points in Yoga (also called Tao Yoga) – or the power pulled down via Tai Chi – also called Taoist Tai Chi (meaning the Qi energy) – or the energy from meridians used with accupuncturezone therapy or accupressure, etc.

In addition to the more philosophical and spiritual aspects, Daoism also has a very practical use as the Chinese state religion, where it includes elements of Taoist alchemy, ancestral cult, magic, curses, rituals, meditation, etc. Much of it revolves around worshipping Lao Zi, which is the legendary author of Dao De Jing (the Classic of the Way’s Virtue) and the so-called “Eight Immortals”, along with the attempt of the person to achieve spiritual and physical health through Daoist practice, as well as achieve immortality

The answer to the simple question, “Can Taoism or Daoism be reconciled with Jesus Christ?” is NO…! There is only one God and one mediator to God…

Philippians 2:9-11
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him (Jesus) and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

1 Timothy 2:4-6
God our Savior […] desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time….

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
